In our ever more hectic and busy world, many of us have begun to lose the connections to ourselves. Through responsibilities and pressures from work, family, education, etc., it often occurs that our bodies are going one way, our minds another, and the soul in another direction all together. We are faced with fears and challenges every day from every corner of our lives.
This constant stress can lead us to become disconnected with ourselves and those around us, leading to fear, self-doubt, an overly active, hard-to-quiet mind, illness or even a sense of "just getting by" rather than living life to it's fullest.
The "Peace through Power" retreat is a challenging, but inspirational Vinyasa Flow Yoga practice that seeks to re-connect students with their inner power, ultimately allowing them to relax and flow into the stillness and peace within.
This retreat will help participants to discover the strength of their inner Warrior through the grounding, primal, yang-energy of the Power Flow series, which uses music soundtracks that will get your heart pumping and sweat dripping. In the LSD (Long, Slow, Deep) series, we will explore the softer side and go deeper into our asana, turning our focus inward and creating awareness in every part of our bodies...finding our "place in space" and initiating deep release.
And while the key to finding inner peace lies not only in the practice of asana, but also in "dharana" (meditation) we will integrate a number of powerful meditation techniques into our practice. These are perfect for beginner or advanced meditators alike, but are especially effective for those who have a hard time getting their minds to "just shut up for once and be quiet!"
Apart from the 2x daily yoga, meditation and workshop sessions, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the various activities available at Virgin Cocoa such as:
- 2,5 km jogging distance to the neigbour island Nunukan
- Turtle and fish watching on the jetty between Virgin Cocoa and Nunukan
- Swimming, reading or simply doing nothing
The following acitivities are not included in the retreat price:
scuba diving, snorkeling (diving school on the island), spa treatments, excursions to neighbour island Nabucco and other islands of the atoll)
The retreat is ideal for those with yoga experience, as well as beginners with a good level of fitness. Classes are held in English and/or German. (particpants with no prior yoga experience MUST take at least 5 Level 1 or beginner yoga classes before attending and be familiar with the basic asanas).

Around noon time: short trip by boat to Maratua, 1.45 p.m. Private charter flight of complete retreat group from Maratua to Balikpapan (flight time 45 min.), from Balikpapan individual onward journey
Retreat students will organize arrival and departure by themselves.
